Abstract
Companies that use product lifecycle management (PLM) systems need to configure them individually. Such configuration is considered as a software development process. This article demonstrates how the software development process for PLM configuration can be improved by applying applicationlifecycle management (ALM) concepts. This paper explains how such a conceptdesigncan be created and implemented. The concept was evaluated in a real industrial case study. By this, it provides valuable insights useablefor any company, facing similar challenges as depicted in this paper.
