Abstract
For 11 years, the Division of Applied Science, University of Paderborn, has offered a four‐year undergraduate technical environmental protection course. More than 500 graduates have completed the programme so far. By means of regular surveys, the job situations of the graduates are evaluated, and feedback about the strengths and weaknesses of the education is requested. In addition, the faculty members keep in close contact with potential employers by supervising students during their professional practical training and by joint projects. The results of this exchange of information and ideas with respect to the professional situation and perspective are described.
